Exemplars of bookish delight

An offer for your Valentine

I just received an email from Persephone Books. For those of you unfamiliar with this particular UK press, they reprint neglected classics of 20th century authors (most of whom are women). I love them, for the record.

But I digress …

In honor of Valentine’s Day they are offering free gift wrap and a sweet little message. Simply order a book online before midnight Tuesday, February 9th (keep in mind the time difference); Do NOT click the gift-wrapping option, but write in “Valetine’s Day Offer” in the box for Additional Information. Order a book for your sweetheart, or one for yourself!

They suggest the following books:

No. 35 Greenery Street

No. 21 Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day

No. 29 The Making of a Marchioness

No. 81 Miss Buncles Book

No. 62 How to Run your Home without Help

The little books from Persephone Press are lovely. We may need to give one away in the coming months … hmmmm… something to ponder …
